Over the summer it was announced that Baauer and Boys Noize would be co-headlining a national tour, run-X. Initial reactions were excited if not also a little confusing. While the two are both hugely respected in their own styles, the two had yet to collaborate in any meaningful way making the tour questionable. But today, the confusion was lifted as the two dropped a freebie in “Fire Like This”–the stomping genre-less dance track with frenzied drum fills, a rocking rawness, and based around what The FADER calls a “dizzily looped sample of Miami girl group Anquette's schoolyard-chant tribute to "Janet Reno" that you heard in the teaser video for run-X. Whatever this is, it’s a taste of the tour and it’s exciting to see such respected talents working together to bust genres down. You can download this one via the run-X website.
