The musical ability of BeazyTymes is undeniable at this point. And while grinding out in college, he’s making time to continue creating records that swing for the fences. But somehow a great producer continues to impress us with his ability to evolve, and does so without alienating the broader audience.
His latest, “Nocturnal Sound,” is controlled chaos. Relentless synths, kicks, and vocals only take a quick moment to breathe. And honestly as dope as this record is, the money shot is after the second drop. His songs are evolving into unchartered territory, and he’s still flying below the radar.
That said, he’s making some serious moves this year. I take more than a bit of pride in saying that he will be playing Spring Awakening in Chicago this June. I was the first to advocate for him when he had 300 SoundCloud followers. He’s about to hit 10,000, and the underdog just got a major win. All it takes is curators with an ear picking the best records instead of chasing the mainstream.
