It's often easy to be sceptical about dancefloor remixes of well known tunes. So when you see a Coldplay bootleg in your inbox, you could be forgiven for skipping straight past it. I took a listen to the Matthew Heyer deep house remix of Coldplay's "Fix You" over the weekend, and I have to admit, I'm glad I did. This very much under the radar producer from Toulouse has taken this classic ballad to a new place, but somehow it doesn't lose any of the melodic clarity of the original. A warm blend of piano tones and subtle synths provide a platform for Chris Martin's famous vocals to fall upon, and soft percussive additions provide flowing groove into the mix. This rework certainly deserves a listen, and what's more, it's a free download.
