One of the tunes that’s been doing it for me over the last month has been Darq E Freaker’s “Minger,” which is out now on Numbers. When I think about what truly moves me, musically, it’s that leftfield, hip-hop-influenced electronic music, and Darq E‘s material perfectly sums up everything I love about this shit. On the first day that DAD debuted to the globe, it was a Darq E Freaker set on Rinse FM that had me open. He dropped a set that was nothing but his own material, and it looks like he got a full two hours to express himself for the Numbers show on Rinse FM, and damnit he goes in. Dropping what feels like a plethora of new Darq E Freaker material, it’s one of those times where everything I’m hearing feels like something that’s his, and better than the last thing I heard of his.
