One of the biggest projects to hit the music scene over the last few years is Jack U, aka the dynamic duo of Diplo and Skrillex. They've kept the EDM scene in America fresh with their constant touring schedules as DJs, hitting up the biggest festivals throughout the country while maintaining their own record labels (Mad Decent for Diplo, OWSLA for Skrillex), helping cultivate the next crop of EDM prodigies. Their work as producers has touched the American mainstream as well, especially with Diplo, who has a laundry list of collaborations with Madonna, Snoop Dogg, Ty Dolla $ign, and others. Jack U has exploded in 2014, which was helped by their debut single as a duo, the Kiesza-featured "Take U There" (which was actually a track they initially demo'd for Usher).

Over the last few weeks, the duo has been on a wild press ride, touching down at Hot 97's morning show, Skrillex hitting Howard Stern, and Diplo hitting 106 & Park; they even recently hit Big Boy's Neighborhood for an interview and mix, but none of their interviews seem to be as interesting as their discussion with Whoo Kid at Shade 45. Maybe it's because Whoo Kid's a DJ as well, but not too many interviewers are asking these two about dropping OT Genasis' "CoCo" or the number of Jamaicans who reside in Canada. This 25-minute interview dives into how hip-hop and EDM both hit today's youth culture, issues with drugs at EDM festivals (and music shows in general), and what the future of music will sound like. DIplo even speaks on Kanye buying records from him years back.

For Jack U fans, you can expect another single and their Jack U mixtape before their massive New Year's Eve show at Madison Square Garden next month (which features acts like A$AP Ferg, Rudimental, and Yellow Claw). Check out the full 25-minute interview down below:
