#FreeDonnaGoudeau has made it to the club.

Club music's history is predicated on taking snippets of culture and transforming them into three minute, pop-friendly dance records. Thus, it's not surprising that Baltimore-based producer DJ Dizzy's latest track "P.O.P. Hold It Down" takes a now viral video (that's actually from 2011) of now 28-year-old Donna Goudeau–a woman then-accused of robbery in Port Arthur, Texas–speaking to reporters after arraignment and turns it into a thumping, vocal chop-heavy throwdown ready for the dance floor. The track itself is built around two vocal clips, first Goudreau's hilarious statement, "I’m legally blind. All I know is my side of the story. That’s my story. I’m sticking to it!," referring to the accusation that she drove the getaway vehicle, and "Momma I love you. P.O.P. Hold it down… Pimp Squad baby FOR LIFE! Long live Pimp Squad!"

Making the sublime out of the ridiculous, Baltimore's DJ Dizzy is, alongside names like James Nasty, Mighty Mark, Angel Baby, Matic, and others showing that club music's historical birthplace has a fresh and/or younger crew of producers ready to take their talents to the next level.
