Like I said last night, the TEKLIFE crew will have the lights shining on them brightly, checking how the pieces have been picked up since losing Rashad. DJ Manny, who many have seen on tracks and in videos right beside DJs Rashad and Spinn, is set to drop his first album, Tek Files, Vol. 1, via Pittsburgh-based imprint Hoko Sounds. According to FACT, Manny met the Hoko folks at Pittsburgh's VIA Festival in 2012, and it looks like their relationship has spawned into this project, which will be released via 100 cassettes. For now, we get "Sunshine," a beautiful footwork cover of Roy Ayers' classic "Everybody Loves The Sunshine." Judging by the sounds of this, the future of TEKLIFE is in the right hands.
