Earlier this month Loadstar (one of our favorite duos) graced the BBC Radio 1's Essential Mix timeslot, putting on a clinic for their two-hour set. Maybe it's the junglist in us, but there's something about when a drum & bass act touches down on the Essential Mix. Especially acts like Loadstar or Alix Perez, guys who have been dabbling outside of drum & bass; they know how to tease these alternate sounds perfectly before dipping back into the dnb. Loadstar made sure to include gems like the Delta Heavy remix of DJ Fresh & Diplo's "Earthquake" alongside bits from Chase & Status, DC Breaks, TC, Noisia, RL Grime, and Funtcase. They even go in with a number of their own album cuts, as well as a host of more classic material from the dnb scene; not necessarily "old school," but some deeper cuts like "Aztec" Spor (aka Feed Me). One to sink your teeth into.
