I’m mean for real… how would I not listen to a track titled “Fuck The Money?” And what proceeded to fill my earholes was honestly just as amazing as the title. Farhot is a new name on my radar but apparently the dude has been around for a minute and been a part of five platinum records and produced for the likes of Talib Kweli. This Afghan/German producer is busting out on his own now and has a debut release Kabul Fire, Vol. 1 forthcoming on Jakarta Records. This first audio sneak peak is something else, though. Weirdo, sample-based hip-hop electronica that quickly should remind you of Blockhead, El-P, and early RJD2. It’s wonky and disjointed to the point of brilliance. And the sample chop to repeat the title is damn-near anthem worthy.
