While we're officially in the fall, and you androids should be out there finding bae, grooves like Figgy's "You Were Mine" are made for the summer-y weather we're experiencing, and lamenting on bae long gone. While some may be loving the tropical (whatever that means) vibes of this tune, I'm actually just digging the mid-tempo bounce. There's a soul in this tune's bop that is inescapable—one of those tunes that will have drunken bae in the club like "that's my jam!" even though she might never had heard it before. An inescapable familiarity resides deep within the soul of this bit. Hopefully Figgy's forthcoming Missing You EP (which is due out this October via Cut & Dry) has a bunch of tunes flowing with this exact vibe.
