We just celebrated Daft Punk Week here at DAD, and this is a great glimpse of reinterpreting the Daft Punk funk in a totally new way. Ghetto house and juke are byproducts of the Chicago house that Daft Punk were influenced by, and while we’re not sure how much the Chicago juke scene is into Daft Punk, these remixes work well. The legendary Gant-Man’s take on “Robot Rock” starts out similar in the beginning, but his edits start getting more intense as the rework goes on:
Gant-Man also took Homework‘s “Rollin’ & Scratchin’,” one of DAD’s personal favorite tunes, and stays a bit more straight-forward than the “Robot Rock” remix. Maintains the loud vibe of the original, but reimagines it in a juke mindframe.
