Chong X is from Prague in the Czech Republic, which seems like an unlikely place for a dude who makes Latin and Caribbean inspired beats. Chong X however has his roots in the '90s ragga jungle scene and spent a number of years up until recently in Peru where he was no doubt able to soak in the local culture.
His is my go-to place if I'm looking for a global bass twist on a popular dancehall track or traditional latin song. I would say about 90% of the stuff there is free. I'm like a kid in a candy store where the candy I get is so I can make money drinking free booze and making people lose their shit.
