When you hear of Orlando, FL in the news, it’s not often in a positive light, all I have to say is Trayvon Martin or Casey Anthony and everyone instantly knows what I’m talking about. But in spite of all the crazy (or maybe as a result of it, I’m still trying to figure it out) there’s something magical here, whether it’s something in our water or the magic of Disney we have immense talent that comes from this city. I see Meaux Green and Big Makk on the come up in their own respectable ways while still reppin for the city; and then I see four guys who started out in Orlando but have since moved to L.A. and they seem to be unstoppable now: Henry Fong, Milo & Otis, and DallasK.

OWSLA has posted previews of Henry Fong‘s Stand Up EP, and it showcases their immense talent that was evident when they were DJing together here in Orlando, which makes sense seeing that Henry says “Stand Up” was inspired ”by [his] early days DJing hip hop at college bars.” He says “When I sit down to produce, I always try to channel that feeling and build a track for the dancefloor, which really clicked with ‘Stand Up’!!” I can’t help but wonder if the inspiration from DJing at college bars led to the very dynamic and diverse remixes from Milo & Otis and DallasK, but either way it’s great to see how far they’ve all come since then. And while Destructo isn’t from Orlando, you can’t deny his tech-house remix definitely adds a creative flare to this amazing EP leaving us here at Do Androids Dance anxious for it’s release on Feb. 11. Until then, we have these amazing previews to hold us over.
