Kai Wachi - "Medusa"

Kai Wachi's been slowly creeping into tracklists and popping up on our radar more and more in the past year. His newest effort is a riddim that will have you ready to behave recklessly, warping you straight back to your screw-faced dubstep years.

Kai Wachi's been slowly creeping into tracklists and popping up on our radar more and more in the past year. His newest effort is a riddim that will have you ready to behave recklessly, warping you straight back to your screw-faced dubstep years.

Marching his usual line between trap and dubstep, Kai Wachi has constructed "Medusa" to a meticulous level, thugged-out and intense while retaining moments of absolute silence. It's a sort of balance that's rare but all-too-necessary in tracks like this — Wachi keeps it 100 with the intensity, but it's not a track that feels like it's screaming in your face with any excess instrumentation. The track is out for free via Wachi's Facebook fan page and you can grab it below.
