King Fantastic has been a crew that’s delved heavily into electronic music, giving sick producers the opportunity to rework their tracks in amazing ways. Today we give you the premiere on the remix of “State of the Union,” which is the one and only original track they’ve released since KF member Killer Reese One has been incarcerated. What’s great is they enlisted Philly street bass general Dev79 to turn in a dark, eerie rework. After working on the B.A.S.S. EP with Blok Boyz, it looks like Dev might have been itching to get some more production for lyrics out there, and this track doesn’t trying to making “State of the Union” a club banger, but a more moody, bass-driven anthem for those of you who question authority… and in these times of government shutdown, tracks like these are key.

The original is available on Westcoastsynthesizerbeachbumgangstermusic, The Collection MMX-MMXIII, but you can grab Dev79′s rework for free right now.

I have never heard from King Fantastic officially but I mailed a CD to Reese with the two tracks of theirs I remixed, so I like to think he has listened to them while incarcerated.
