Knight Riderz – “Only Me”

This lonely old spinster spent Valentine’s Day with chocolate lava cakes from Domino’s Pizza, two orders for this special holiday. Pink is my favorite color and I am all about spreading love, but the snow and ice and winter of my discontent stirring outside my frosty windows kept me under my pink, fuzzy blankets with rom coms and oozing hot fudge. The sun is out today, and after crawling out from my tundra and throwing on some shades, I have arrived fashionably late to the Valentine’s Day mixes that flooded the SC waves this weekend. I have spent the last 24 hours listening to slow and low romantic sounds of some of the sweetest, sultriest, filthiest mixtapes and remixes.

I am feeling all warm and fuzzy listening to this hot new Knight Riderz original, “Only Me.” Ever since the death of trap, I have been flailing my arms frantically running to hop on the twerk music bandwagon. Punctuality isn’t my best quality, maybe why I love bass music so much. Booty bounce bass is even better.

Being a thirty-three year old single woman alone in a house full of animals on Friday night for Valentine’s Day is far from ideal. I would even go so far as to say in these latter years of solitude, my quest as a slave to my art (I’m a writer, BTW), it has brought to mind some Clockwork Orange terrors. To quote an Academy Award winning song, “It’s hard out here for a pimp.” Philadelphia can be tough, and it takes something of a superhero to rise from these ashes.

IRL, it is chocolate and booty bounce bass music that warm my cold, dead heart. Especially around this time of year. Much love to the originality of Knight Riderz and the teams Seclusiasis and Slit Jockey Records collecting their free material into for Seclus Jockey Free Dowloads Vol. 1, for which “Only Me” is one of the lone debuts. We’ve covered a number of these tracks, and def fucks with all of it.
