House music is no doubt a world phenomenon and it’s not going anywhere.  Trap music in time might get there too.  It’s distinctly urban and hip-hop inspired rhythms will keep it continually evolving and there will always be a void to fill as long as it plays opposite to house music.  With that said, trap’s sonic progression has already been evolving exponentially.  UK label Trapdoor has been one of the hubs in pushing the trap sound forward having put out releases with the likes of Hucci, Alesia, Stooki Sound, Maxx Baer, and Aglory.

Today we’ve got the premiere on a new track from KRNE and Portrait.  You may know KRNE from our support on his LORDE remix or his releases through Plastician’s Terrorhythm label and you might know Portrait through his own deep catalog, but you’ll definitely know them both now because of this new track, “Saturn.”

“Saturn” is a massive heat rock that journeys through a purple bit-crushed video game soundscape.  Fans of RL Grime, Wave Racer, and Mr. Carmack will most definitely take a liking to this as many of the sounds are inspired by their styles.  That said, it’s still of it’s own style as it mixes a trap heaviness with a purple and neon bombastic club sections.  At four-and-a-half minutes, this is a track that DJs can mix in and let the whole thing rock because it’s just a monster.  KRNE and Portrait have worked together before, both on originals and remixes of each other, but this is their best work to date.  Absolutely loving this track right now, so cop this now.
