Madeaux ft. Gallant – “Epinephrine”

Not sure if it’s the weather, or the FOMO I’m feeling while sitting in Jersey during Miami Music Week, but I could spend all day listening to sullen electronic ditties like Madeaux‘s latest. One of the biggest sounds in my world right now is that “alternative R&B” that’s been floating around, and there’s something about the Gallant-featured “Epinephrine” that sticks out to me. Madeaux tagging this as “quiet riot” is the realest SoundCloud tag I’ve ever read. Songs like this dwell in the pit of your stomach, that horrible feeling of betrayal you experience but can’t act out on. Building the intensity like he has mirrors the inner turmoil one might feel in those situations, and while this doesn’t climax into some mind-numbing ragefest, it doesn’t have to. Not all of us wear our anger on our sleeves; proper introverts riot inwards, quietly. You can grab this impressive number for free, then come back ’round later this week for a Madeaux gem from us on the road to his full album, Love The Machine.
