Any friend of Loefah‘s Swamp81 is a friend of DAD’s. Mickey Pearce should be a name you’ve seen over the last few years, especially if you like something deeper than the norm. While he started out as Shortstuff in 2009, it was his shift to Mickey Pearce that got more notice, with Swamp81, Ramp, and Blunted Robots all pining for releases. His latest is a freebie, and it goes. Clocking in at around 32 minutes, Up West is a nine-track beat tape that finds itself nestled in a corner of the beats scene that’s just a grime-y as it is techno, but no matter what you’re trying to classify it as, just know that it bangs. You can stream the project below, but to download you’ll have to head over to swamp81.com.
