In our early days of the site, we brought you sounds from one of Detroit’s current wave of dance music artists, Monty Luke. His Black Catalogue imprint has had a steady output of deep and eclectic music from names like Lance Desardi, AbJo, and more recently, a split release with New York Imprint Throne of Blood. For Black Catalogue's seventh release, Monty is back on a solo mission with the Lonely Is The Night EP, showcasing three tracks of what he rightfully calls "Detroit Deep." This particular tune, "I’ll Cry Diamonds While You Burn," showcases Monty flexing another realm of production while of course keeping the aforementioned style intact – the analog basslines, heavy drum section and a haunting string and synth section make this tune quite hypnotic.
