We already knew Mr. Carmack was all about the funk. He's definitely from another planet and delivers the funk like very few ever before him have. But on the real, so much of what we've heard from him has been almost completely 100% hip-hop driven, or at the very least has that as the foundation. It's not that I ever doubted his abilities in the slightest, but this new tune with guest shots from B-Bravo and Parvizi made this growing legend all that more important and spectacular. Adding in these vocal (and who knows what else) treatments from B-Bravo and contributions from fellow Team Supreme member in Parvizi, something just went inter-planetary and straight past the year 3000. "Something About You Baby" sounds more in place on a Ryan Leslie or Mayer Hawthorne record than it does in the beat scene underground and that's one of the reasons it's so amazing. This is a future funk pop record if I've ever heard one, even it just may be in a demo or draft stage. Who really knows with Carmack, because he doesn't really say much about anything. He's just dope and he continues to drop dope shit. I continue to stay immensely intrigued.
