DAD gets dibs again on a Die High premiere and you know I had to jump at it. This Aussie label is completely killing it these days featuring extremely top shelf club, future, and beat-driven tunes. Next up through the increasing important and relevant imprint is the debut official release from Los Angeles unknown Ostra. On this two-track heatrock, Ostra shows an impeccable sonic design skill set that's rooted in creativity and imagination. The opener, "Won't Do", is everything right about this current R&B/future push that's been taking over slowly for the year or so. The flip side, "Zu Zumba," is basically what made my head explode about this release. Gangster latin guitar sample manipulation and wonky head nod bass for the freaking win like none other. Essentially Die High rules and you hear the nu nu here first.
