Earlier today, we posted a feature chock full of remixes of Sam Smith material. During the researching for this piece, I got put on to Austrian producer salute, who has a sound that immediately reminded me of what I like about Flume. His "Money On My Mind" remix hit me right away, and led me to have a brief convo with him. He recently dropped this RobLaw-featured "Play, Pause," which expounds on that flavor that got me into him in the first place, but puts it into a more future R&B (for lack of a better term) zone. It's not just that salute crafted a timeless instrumental or that RobLaw attacked it perfectly; it's the combination of the two. Without drudging up old stories or vibes, know that salute wasn't always making this sound, but this is the sound that's making him the happiest. In turn, I'm fucking ecstatic. Need more of this ASAP, really. Another one I'll tell you to keep your eyes (and ears) on.
