Sandwich Island Bass – “Windshield”

It’s always awesome to hear different styles of music getting properly rinsed.  Of course, all these incarnations of tropical bass have the potential to have it done right but honestly very few do.  And since it had been a minute since I had heard anything new from the Hawaiian crew, Sandwich Island Bass…I was excited to see “Windshield” drop this week.  Dammit if this trio didn’t completely outdo themselves on this one.  The majority of the intro impulse is all about some zouk bass as it sits somewhere around 85-90 BPMs.  But once that double time flip comes in and this basically turns into some next level drum & bass is definitely where it’s at.  Multiple movements included to in the bashment vibes as the tune constantly develops and tastefully gets heavier and heavier as things move along.  In the right DJ’s hands, (*cough* DJ Craze *cough*), one has to think this new one from SIB could be a staple of a headlining set where things go from turnt to absolutely bonkers.  That momentous occasion in the night where you’ll be talking about things for the next week or month if you will.
