If you’re unfamiliar with Mike Gazzo, a budding up-and-comer originally from North Jersey, I recommend you remedy that. Gazzo, as he is known, is taking the electronic scene by storm, gaining stead about a year ago with his remix of indie rock band YLUV’s, “Never Touch the Ground,” and keeping the momentum going through an endless amount of mixes and remixes. His entire catalog packs in the upbeat, bouncy rhythm of house music that pounds with the beating of your heart, and sends you directly to the nearest dancefloor. Mash-up skills like 3LAU, and Dutch house drops and beats remnant of R3hab, there is no denying Gazzo’s talent. That’s not to say he doesn’t have a style and sound all his own, because there is an emotional element to his music that almost seems like his personal touch.
Two things are pretty clear when it comes to Gazzo: he is supported by some of the biggest and best names in house music for good reason, and he has mastered the art of remixing indie tunes to a point of electro/progressive house perfection. His most recent of these remixes is that of the Snow Patrol track from a few years ago. “Chasing Cars” is a hopelessly romantic song wrought with the perfect amount of emotion to throw house beats and a drop behind, making it an instant banger. This track is sure to make its way into the rotations of nightclubs worldwide, and will have audiences singing along with their arms raised in the air, looking like that gerbil before the beat drops.
