Starkey‘s on this continued space trek; if “Blaster” is the nasty, death-defying firefight in the cosmos, “Drogue” is the intergalactic summit that occurs before it, when everything went awry. Kicking things off with another long, star-gazing intro, Starkey plays with music box melodies and (what appears to be) vocoded vox in the background before the two sides start disagreeing. Their disputes can’t be resolved, so photon torpedoes come alive. It’s kill or be killed, and “Drogue” is the opening salvo in the battle. FACT threw up two more cuts from the EP, “The Nights” and “Gun Fingers,” which we’ve been awaiting for a bit. Pour up a cup of that space drank and saber out to this one. The Blaster EP drops on October 29.
