If you read a lot of the hipster sites, you’ve probably seen the name TĀLĀ by now. If you haven’t, let us androids have the pleasure of introducing you. TĀLĀ is a new UK artist of Iranian heritage who merges contemporary electronica with a touch of classic trip-hop vibes over a bed new wave ambient soundscapes a to mold her own slice futuristic soulful nirvana. Her debut EP, The Duchess, drops this coming Monday via Aesop.

At a total just over 10 minutes long, this three-track EP is surely only a taste of what’s to come for this future star. Perhaps I don’t know enough about UK artistry these days, but I don’t think I’ve ever heard anything like this. Her voice is powerful and perfectly works with her massive productions. TALA seems to be a complete package. She not only composes and produces her own material, but she’s singing and performing it all herself so it’s probably only a matter of time before she’s a massive international star as well. I could easily go on but it’s better you hear it yourself:
