Before we get into this post, I just have to go on and say it: word of The Knocks' debut album has been a long time coming. They were pegged by DAD as Artists to Watch in 2013, based on the blog love they'd been receiving, a number of high profile remixes they'd racked up over the last few years, and word of their debut album forthcoming on A&M/Octane. And while they had a solid 2013, word of their album project hadn't matriculated much further. All of that said, it's great to see that their album ENDISCO is seeing a Fall 2014 release on Big Beat / Neon Gold, and right now is the perfect time to unleash "Classic," the radio-ready lead single from this project, featuring Powers.
The vocal work on this one is perfect, not only for radio, but for the funky, chill vibe that resides throughout this number. "Classic" is just one of the tracks with interesting features on ENDISCO; the full tracklist (which you can check out below) finds Ra Ra Riot's Wes Miles, St. Lucia, X Ambassadors, Rozzi Crane, and others listed. Feels like this'll encompass the indie darling status that The Knocks has been fulfilling, and could be a surprise hit for the end of 2014. Pre-order "Classic" before its August 12 release.
