The Starship Connection, made up of B. Bravo, Teeko, D-Nasty and Bob-O, is a space age electronic funk quartet that laces pretty much every thing they ever do. With past releases on Salva‘s Frite Nite imprint, the crew has definitely made the west coast funk scene infinitely more prolific. Today, they drop something special just for the DAD squad and it’s such a dope look on so many levels. They’ve flipped David Banner’s “Play” into something from the year 3000 and DJs are fools if they aren’t immediately eating this one up. Interstellar synths and funk driven percussion send this one through the stratosphere. Definitely one of the most original versions of this sexualized club rap anthem I’ve ever heard.
