I want to say I’ve known The Two. Fifteens for like five or six years. Since back before they were The Two. Fifteens. And while one part of our convos on DAD is about getting into the music industry and the business side of the EDM scene, these two ooze potential and don’t seem to really care about gaining footholds in that realm. I may be spit-balling, but aside from their YouTube page and their Tumblr, their social media game is pretty nonexistent. As long as I can get them on the batphone, though, I’m all good, especially when they’re handing me joints as fresh as these.
Back in April, they dropped The Commute Vol. 2.15, which featured cuts from The Commute Vol. 2 plus nine new songs. It was fresh, but we have a feeling a number of you guys out there slept on it, even if we told you about one of the new jawns, “Shock Corridors.” Today, they let us give away one of that album’s stand-outs, “Slow Motion,” which is one of the grooviest cuts they’ve made, even if it still dwells in that sub-heavy, dubbed out lane they maintain. They also sneaked in something no one has their mittens on entitled “Ceasar Salad Days,” which is my personal favorite. It starts out all insane with the twinkling of intergalactic keys, but then erupts into this beautiful concoction of bass and fury. Punishing low-end (their name hearkens to the speakers in your whip) is on deck, and all one needs to do is close their eyes and drift into a hypnotic state. Don’t drive while this one is on, though; just park and turn up. Oh yeah, free download on both of these.
