Trap Door – “Luv Thang”

I love when I just know I’m going to dig something. Mind you, I don’t know much about the Manchester-based producer Trap Door, but I know B.YRSLF has impeccable taste. I also know that anything entitled “Luv Thang” will be right up my alley, and was right on the money as soon as I hit play on this one. It’s not built on much; you get some small melodies battling it out in a round over this constant percussive loop, hand claps, and weighty kicks. From there, this one just ascends to the heavens, leaving smiles and joy joy feelings in its wake. It’s almost like the aural equivalent of seeing bae from across the way and running towards them, giving all kinds of love when you embrace. Yes, that’s dumb esoteric, but that’s how I’m feeling.

This is taken from Trap Door’s forthcoming B.YRSLF EP, which has neither a title nor a release date right now, but that is all TBA. Just keep this quick one on repeat.
