London’s Trap93 is a new name but they just dropped their first compilation album and came correct. Deep sub-bass, gnarly riddims, pleasure-center-pleasing twinkling synth work, and heavy hitting drums, this compilation is varied and strong. From the chiller deeper cuts like Sampul and Hekmah’s “Arabia” to Soundsnobz’ “Skrimish,” an eerie if not haunting bleeping classic rave-infused futuristic trap boomer. This compilation is far from perfect and the quality isn’t all there but there’s definitely some good stuff on here and it’s worth checking out; especially that AlunaGeorge flip at the end. Overall, this compilation largely features names we’ve never even heard of outside of tune from the Plastician-supported GANZ and we think we’re better for it.
