Yung Gräfenberg – “Make U Work”

dieter-sprockets

We’re not sure if Saturday Night Live‘s “Sprockets” skit inspired these humorous DJs to create German aliases but we’re all about it here at Do Androids Dance. First, we had DJ Hanzel (the German alter ego of Dillon Francis) who trolled everyone by dropping a “Von Deeper” set at the Mad Decent Block Party; now we have Yung Gräfenburg (aka DJ Greggyballz) (aka G-Buck) dropping “Make You Work,” which uses Nelly Furtado’s “Man Eater” to create a very fun and danceable tune which reminds me of Miami booty bass music.

Whether or not these German aliases are created to make us laugh or as a means to experiment with different genres and sounds that wouldn’t fit under their moniker is something we do not yet know, but if tunes like these keep happening as an end result, we’re not complaining. (Speaking of laughing be sure to look up “Gräfenberg” on Google for a quick history lesson). All I have to say is that we here at Do Androids Dance would love to see a German alias collaboration, so what do you say DJ Hanzel and Yung Gräfenberg? While we wait for this collab be sure to check out “Make You Work” and let us know what you think.
