At DAD, we’re no strangers to breaking ill shit that’s going overlooked by just about everyone else. With that said, here’s yet another guy you need to be aware of: Yung Mint, an experimental beat-maker out of Chicago with a diverse array of sounds and a hyper-active SoundCloud to boot. He’s dropped a new, freely-downloadable track called “Bird Beat,” which starts like any regular trap tune, before incorporating chill-ass guitar and birdsong samples to create the trillest spring-time tune I’ve heard yet in 2014. Mint’s only got 94 Soundcloud followers, but there’s seldom a span of longer than a few days between fresh new uploads from whatever he’s got brewing. You can already follow the maturation and polishing of his sound as you skim through his SoundCloud, past-to-present, and it’s an exciting progression to observe, even if you have to keep a close eye – like a certain Mr. Carmack, he’s a fan of deleting chunks of his work from the net after a certain point. Keep it chill, Yung Mint, and keep cranking out the beats.
