From GoPro headband cameras to adidas gear, EDM has showing up in all kinds of advertising. And while many will argue that "EDM's already been mainstream," we're just seeing the tip of the EDM cashfall iceberg. EDM's being recognized as the sound of the youth, and whether it's soundtracking Spring Breakers or your favorite MLB star's walk-up music, EDM's use in the mainstream is not going anywhere. Fueled by a number of recent advertisements, we wanted to look back at 10 great examples of EDM being utilized to sell you everything from vodka to breakfast cereal.
A-Trak & GTA's "Landline 2.0" for adidas Unite All Originals
Not only was the track used in a pretty visually stunning piece, they gave A-Trak a pretty true-to-life cameo.
Diplo's "Express Yourself" for Doritos
We've never heard Diplo's "Express Yourself" drop when we've eaten Doritos (nor did we ever imagine that Jon Favreau would be directing a Doritos spot). Maybe we need to eat more Doritos.
Lomax's "Praise" for Tango
Daft Punk's "Digital Love" for GAP
Juliette Lewis dancing with Daft Punk to "Digital Love?" When we die, bury us inside a GAP store.
Nero's "Me & You" for Beats by Dre
There's no better soundtrack to throwing color-filled water balloons and Beats By Dre-wearing audiophiles than some massively awesome Nero.
DJ Fresh's "Louder" for Lucozade
Two beautiful, golden roller-skating girls bring the party with one of Fresh's biggest singles to date. If you didn't know, Lucozade is an energy drink. We're assuming they drank some.
Skeam's "In For The Kill (Remix)" for Bayonetta
Skream's remix of "In for the Kill" was huge already, but this commercial got a LOT of burn when it was running. Arguably a huge part of his remix's staying power.
Mord Fustang's "A New World" for Weetabix
This might have been one of the strangest places we've heard dubstep, but that cereal must rock.
TNGHT's "Higher Ground" for Champs Sports x adidas Originals
There's no real connection between colorful adidas Originals and TNGHT's horn-driven "Higher Ground," but just sitting on your couch and hearing that track come on is awesome.
Swedish House Mafia's "Greyhound" for Absolut
The Swedish House Mafia are no strangers to product placement (check out Steve Angello's MiO Energy project), but this is a straight up music video for a then-unreleased tune! And it gets ya' drunk!!
