As you should know, we're close with the good folks over at Pigeons & Planes. We've also been huge fans of AlunaGeorge's debut album Body Music. P&P recently got a chance to speak with AlunaGeorge about everything from how they linked up to what it was like working with Disclosure, but they were also kind enough to ask the duo about some of their favorite dance music producers are. Not surprisingly, they picked a number of producers that have excited us this year. Check out the five producers they're currently digging, with some insight as to why.

George: We’ve got a remix done by him recently and it’s so, so good. I think he had something out on Diplo’s label—what is it, Mad Decent? Yeah. I think it’s something called “Bird Machine” which is just the most ridiculously good song playing. It’s basically bird songs with trap over it. It’s amazing.

George: Does Flume count? Yeah, we love the Flume album.

Aluna: TEED as well, we love TEED.

George: I can never remember the name of the song, but it’s the one with the really amazing, amazing drop.

Aluna: Are you thinking of “Tapes & Money?”

George: No, it might be “Household Goods.” Wait, is it “Garden?” No, hang on. Yeah, it’s “Household Goods.” Wow, he’s brilliant, everything he does sounds good.

Clark

Aluna: Chris Clark. Is that dance music or just complicated music?

George: Who?

Aluna: Chris Clark.

George: I think he’s just called Clark now. Yeah, he makes dance music. He does all sorts. He’s been on Warp records for years now and he’s constantly, it’s a bit cheesy, but searching for something different which is very admirable when he’s done some more sort of instrumental hip-hop to just strictly beat-based to more house-y stuff and doesn’t really pay attention to genres it seems. He’s really cool.
