With the advances that EDM is making into mainstream American media, you end up with a lot of differing opinions. Some you can shrug off as just plain wrong, but there are others that we feel we need to stand against; times where we have to really explain, point by point, why this piece is off the mark.

For our first "Counterpoint," we look at a piece Crossfadr did back in October of 2012, trying to make light of how EDM isn't fully accepted into the mainstream. While we could write a list about that exact idea, it feels like the bullet points they brought up aren't hitting the mark as intended. It's one thing to discuss how the structure of the EDM release cycle differs from pop music, but it's another to say "their songs are too long."
