Right now, I'm just talking like it's you and me... who the hell am I kidding, I ALWAYS talk to you like it's you and me. While Do Androids Dance debuted on January 7, 2013, we (read: me) were on the low, getting the aesthetic of the site in order way back when. See, I'm a Libra, and I'm all about balance. While I know and can appreciate the "mainstream" / "commercial" side of EDM, I grew up on dance music in its many forms. I remember Aphex Twin caring because I do, and the days when drum & bass was really getting its footing. Yet somehow, cats still want to act some kind of way because we're covering what's relevant, like Krewella, as if we don't know what's popping. Like DAD isn't up on the broad spectrum of the scene. Anyone who truly pays attention to our movements knows: DAD follows everything.

Why do I say all of this? Well, I want you to know that just because DAD has and will continue to cover what's popping in the dance music scene, from Diplo to David Guetta, we know our shit and are moved by much more than the Beatport charts. Never get it twisted. While I don't want to be on some "let's prove a point" shit, I did want to share tracks that have been in my regular rotation since January of 2013. This is 50 tracks, featuring all kinds of footwork, drum & bass, trap, and other sounds that I've gotten down to in 2013. DAD's covered practically all of this, just in case you were wondering, but it wouldn't be a proper end of the year without a DAD year end mix featuring the music that truly moves us. Turn up, chill out, and toast to 2014.
