DAD Label Profile: SMOG Records

We've done some cool label profiles so far, but when we the opportunity presented itself to speak in person with Drew Best, one of the masterminds at SMOG Records, I had to jump at it. SMOG as a collective had a huge year in 2013, easily their biggest in the half a decade or so they've been around. Smashing Beatport charts along with the internet and blogosphere, they've essentially become one of the biggest entities on the planet pushing bass music.

On their recently wrapped Smog City North American Tour, SMOG flexed their status over an extensive 38 date tour that brought them through my hood in Kansas City at The Riot Room.  Drew was kind enough to invite us up on the tour bus and give us the lowdown on his history, SMOG's creation, the flood of music and excitement and how it's so tight to be in LA right now.  Shout out to Drew for taking the time to talk with us and the SMOG crew for smashing my city to bits.  #bassmusiclife
