Five Tracks: Damn Kids

We love when DJs go a bit outside of the box for their edition of Five Tracks. Toronto's Damn Kids has been killing it over the last few years, releasing tracks on Trouble & Bass and remixing Pleasurekraft, and is a pretty ferocious DJ. What's dope is when he looks at the material he always wants to drop in his sets, but is never able to. We understand that pain, and appreciate him taking things into a different lane this week. Here are Damn Kids' Five Tracks.

D.I.M. & TAI - "Lyposuct"

This track ignored the popular sound at the time and just did its own thing. Its loud and in your face and it really changed my idea of what a club record could be.

Daft Punk - "Rollin’ & Scratchin’"

One of the biggest tunes ever in my eyes. I’ve played bits and pieces of this out but I’ve always wanted to play it start to finish and enjoy it on a loud system.

Nujabes - "Feather"

Not Available Interstitial

Nujabes is in my top three producers of all time, but my DJ sets are pretty aggressive so to play one of his beautiful songs that are a mix of jazz and hip hop would probably result in one to three music nerds giving me a thumbs up and all the ravers very confused waiting for a drop that never comes.

Kanye West - "All of the Lights (Interlude)"

Not Available Interstitial

This is one of my favourite pieces of music of all time and it literally makes no sense in a club which makes me want to play it even more. Hopefully one day I can drop this and people will just go with it …or I’ll clear the dancefloor.

Pleasurekraft - "Tarantula (Damn Kids Remix)"

Not Available Interstitial

One of my favourite remixes I’ve done and I still have never got the chance to play it. I always think if ending a set with it, but I don’t want to slow down the mood so I usually end with hip-hop.
