There were a number of reasons that we hated the new SoundCloud, but one that we hadn't listed at the time was their "Related" feature, which wasn't available at the time, but would have definitely been on it. We love the idea of the "cloud," and an on-going listening session, but there are times where we just want to hear one track without wondering where the hell this random song came from (we know many of you have had the exact same thing happen). We're assuming that the choices thrown into the "Related" section have something to do with the categories used on each track, but there are times where you'll see the exact same tracks will be thrown in the "Related" for genres like drum & bass - where's the variation?

One thing we've also noticed was that, randomly, SoundCloud will get it right. Either it's a track that perfectly compliments what you just heard, is super awesome but done by someone you're not familiar with, or is just so random that you can't do anything but sit in amazement. We decided to go through some of our favorite happy accidents, showcasing the times where SoundCloud's "Related" feature works for the better.

Nikes x Lefty x MoonDoctoR - "$mokin Ha$h"

What Brought Us Here?: T_A_M - "Midgar/Roze"

Imagine our surprise when we got done rocking to the new release from T_A_M and those Crystal Waters "Gypsy Woman" chords laced with some slick amen edits? Too intense, especially when it drops into that trap vibe. The full FreshMoon Presents 808K V.1 compilation (which this track was released in honor of) is necessary, with cuts from DJ Spinn, DJ Rashad, Traxman, and others rounding out the project.

Low Roar - "Because We Have To (BeazyTymes Remix)"

What Brought Us Here?: Flosstradamus - "Assquake"

It's kind of a random warp, going from the twerk of "Assquake" to BeazyTymes' chilled trap rework of "Becayse We Have To," but hearing these back to back let us know that the American bass music scene is pretty damn vibrant.

Future Cut - "Whiplash (Verb Remix)"

What Brought Us Here?: Craggz & Parallel - "Fragments"

What's better than great drum & bass? Even more great drum & bass. Verb's a name that's been bubbling on the underground, but with Renegade Hardware giving him the keys to the classic "Whiplash," he's abound to make a huge statement.

SecondCity - "Every Hour"

What Brought Us Here?: Julio Bashmore - "Duccy"

A number of people were NOT happy with "Duccy," although we still feel like it's one to grow on. If you were looking for a house track that was a bit more soulful and fleshed out, SecondCity's "Every Hour" is surely up your alley.

Hauswerks - "On & On"

What Brought Us Here?: T.Williams - "Three Letters"

This one literally felt like a mix; Hauswerks hooks you early, and the familiar hip-hop sample thrown in here works like a charm. Gotta love those deep sounds.

Boddika - "Heat"

What Brought Us Here?: Redshape - "Bulp Head"

Dwelling from Redshape's techno to a tune which turns the techno-influence up a notch, this cut from Boddika is nothing but a winner, especially with the heft of that 808.

Bukez Finezt - "Dishes"

What Brought Us Here?: I Am Legion - "Make Those Move"

Not exactly what we'd be expecting after experiencing the awesomeness that is Noisia and Foreign Beggars linking up, but this trap tune is quirky enough to have us digging for info on Bukez Finezt upon first listen.

DJ Fade - "Money On The Floor"

What Brought Us Here?: Pusha T - "Numbers On The Board (Crookers VIP version)"

CIAO has been exciting us, and DJ Fade's Jersey club sound fits perfectly. One of those tracks that has to be merking the clubs right now.

AlunaGeorge - "Attracting Flies (Andrea Bootleg Edit)"

Not Available Interstitial

What Brought Us Here?: Dazed Elixir - "In Time (Two Sev Remix)"

We'd heard a number of AlunaGeorge remixes in 2013, but somehow Andrea's bootleg of "Attracting Flies" somehow slipped by us. Deep and melodic, the vibe of the track stays in tact, while satisfying our need for the quirk.

Joker - "JOKA DRIVE"

Not Available Interstitial

What Brought Us Here?: Mosca - "Bax (Spooky's Refix)"

We're not sure how we go from Spooky's grime reworks, but we fell in love with Joker's video game soundtrackery during his "Ghetto Klang" set for Mary Anne Hobbs, so randomly getting an earful of his Sonic the Hedgehog-style soundscapes puts a smile on our faces... and also has us wondering why he's not done some kind of nostalgic production on these games...
