HARD is about to put on their annual Halloween weekend superparty, Day of the Dead. This year, with its relocation within Southern California, a handful of new features and yet another step up with the lineup, it’s obviously going to pop off harder, better, faster and stronger than years past. Make an entrance with the zipline

Arrive in style at this year’s DOTD party by ziplining to the main stage as smoothly as Diplo slides into your girl’s DMs.  Yes, there is a zipline ride this year, in addition to a ferris wheel, a makeup station and Rony’s photo booth, among other rides and amenities.

Another element of this year’s refreshed entertainment is the presentation of a brand new main stage. From previews, it looks like a huge pyramid, which begs the question: is HARD pulling some Illuminati ish? We’ll find out. #StayWoke.

Lineup on fleek

HARD events (thankfully) offer more eclectic lineups than other leading festival promoters. Instead of throwing together a bunch of acts from the DJ Mag Top 100 (which is pretty much a scam anyway), they dig deeper to showcase the best of everything else. True music heads can appreciate the lineup because it brings in artists like Klangkarussel, Gesaffelstein and Shiba San who otherwise wouldn’t be playing major festivals.

In big news, Zhu is making his US performance debut at HARD. This is major because he’s so mysterious and he’s only performed live once before in Australia. Deadmau5 and Eric Prydz are going B2B, which is going to be a techno-lover’s dream come true. OH YEAH, and Cam’ron will be performing with RL Grime as a special guest.

Hurry up and grab tickets! They’re not quite sold out, yet.

This time, the show is in Pomona

Pomona is deece. The traffic isn’t too bad. It’s further inland than last year’s location at Los Angeles State Historic Park, but the new venue, the Fairplex, seems better suited for handling events like DOTD. It hosts big shindigs like the L.A. County Fair every year so it frequently handles big, crazy crowds. Also, there is ample parking this year, which is a huge perk.

Camelbacks are cool, kandi is not

Camelbacks are permitted at this HARD event, so you can now bring your hideous and heavy liquid-filled backpacks along for the ride. Just make sure that they are dry and devoid of all molly upon arrival.

Pasquale Rotella chimed in to voice his approval of the new policy. Was it shade or nah? You decide:

Don’t be a n00b:

1. Remember to bring your ID. It’s an 18+ event and they’re not going to show any mercy at the door if you’re underage. Non-U.S. licenses aren’t permitted so if you’re a foreigner trying to enjoy a good old American rave, you need to bring a passport for entry.

2. Bring the credit card you used to pick up your tickets at will-call. If your parents bought you tickets (lucky…) then you have to bring their credit card or a copy of their card with you. Black out the first eight digits of the credit card number if you make a photocopy of it. Don’t lose someone else’s credit card number; that’s a dick move. 3. Don’t overdose on drugs. It’s not a good look. Not sure how many times it needs to be said, but be safe. And have fun, kiddos. We’ll see you there this weekend.
