It's always interesting to see rappers get down with electronic music producers. We were shocked to hear Pusha T on Chase & Status' "Machine Gun," and thought it was dope that both of their albums dropped the same week last year. He'd toured to support My Name Is My Name with Chase & Status overseas, and we definitely think people will love seeing him perform on the 2014 Ultra Music Festival live stage. You could've ended the story there... but he ended up on a YOGI track that's forthcoming on OWSLA. We're not saying that Pusha T has a thing for rocking electronic beats, but it'd be fresh if he put together a 10-tracker for G.O.O.D. Music that flowed with some producers from our world that could work on some heat that wouldn't alienate his crowd. Here are some producers from the electronic music realm that we think could work well with King Push.

Gesaffelstein

Not Available Interstitial

Gesaffelstein not only contributed two tracks to Yeezus ("Black Skinhead" and "Send It Up"), but he's also featured on the Divergent soundtrack with a collaboration with A$AP Rocky. His album Aleph also including a proper West Coast/G-Funk send-up, "Hellfornia." The French producer has a harder-edged techno sound, and with an MC like Pusha T providing the bleek, brilliant street life over those beats, you might have some kind of winner.

Emerson Twin

Not Available Interstitial

London's own Emerson Twin is on a sharp incline, and if his brand of electornic-based hip-hop beats keeps rolling at the same pace (and quality), there's no telling what labels/acts will be trying to acquire his services. We can hear King Push getting contemplative about his past life over one of Emerson's riddims.

Evian Christ

Not Available Interstitial

Evian Christ had a track on Yeezus as well ("I'm In It"), and is one of the names that are truly on the rise. What we think Evian could do is bring some of that end-of-the-world flair to Push's vocals. He raps with such conviction, if he was doing, say, a track about the "end of days," Evian could bring him something that'd keep the listener on the seat of their chairs, itching to have Pusha save them.

Spooky

Not Available Interstitial

No, we're not expecting Spooky to turn Pusha T into a grime MC, but with some of those huge beats that Spooky does, with the trap influence, we have a feeling Pusha might og a bit out of his comfort zone and start maybe doing more double-time flows or really styling in his lyrics. Or just give people that raw uncut.

DJ Sliink

Not Available Interstitial

Sliink's known for Jersey club, but he isn't just Jersey club. He's released big records with Flosstraamus, and just recently remixed a tune from Skrillex and Boys Noize's Dog Blood project. What Sliink brings is an ear to the streets; he's a DJ who knows what moves a crowd, but he's in tune to what the people in the hoopties and real city want to hear. These two could blend and truly beat the block with a souped up banger.

P. Morris

Not Available Interstitial

P. Morris used to go by MORRI$, but with a new name is a new game. His release DEBUT highlights the space-y goombawave sound that his Bear Club Music Group perfected. He can give Pusha T a variety of colors, from more laidback trunk beats to stuff that's all kinds of sparse. Would be ill to see them flesh something out.

Ta-Ku

Not Available Interstitial

The Australian beatsmith got a number of great looks in 2013, including an official remix for Childish Gambino. He has a way of blending a number of influences, from trap to dubstep, into these big body electronic instrumentals. What's fresh, though, is that he's just as influenced by Dilla, and could probably give Pusha some tracks that would him for a loop. We'd love to see a four or five-track EP with these two.

Stray

Not Available Interstitial

This would be the most leftfield of the bunch. Stray's known for his drum & bass and juke/footwork tendencies, but he has a tune "Eazy Boy" that's just itching for a vocal. The bassline is no nonsense, and we have a feeling that Push would ride this track like a good MC should.

Mikos Da Gawd

Not Available Interstitial

San Fran's Mikos Da Gawd has been impressing the DAD staff over the last few months, and for good reason. He feels like a guy who could do anything, and might surprise Push with the depth of his production game. Plus he's on the come up, so it'd be dope to see how Mikos and Pusha T would interact.

Branchez

Not Available Interstitial

Branchez reps NYC and the future of hip-hop. He knows how to drop his own style onto any beat he attempts, but it was his work in the trap scene that caught our eye. Branchez has a knack for picking the right sample and taking it places you wouldn't expect. We're hoping some beat of his could lead Push to a lane he barely travels.
