Who ever said Avicii was a soul-less corporate monster?  Well regardless, Avicii is teaming up with Casablanca Records and House for Hunger to release the world's largest collaboration.  After taking flack for his hypocrisy (working with Ralph Lauren while simultaneously saying it's up to artists to keep the scene's credibility), Avicii has turned back to his fans to make his next track. What does this all mean?  Well for starters it means all of the track's royalties will be donated to House for Hunger (hooray for being a role model!)  As for the actual track itself?

Avicii is planning a multi-stage competition where participants will submit their samples of basslines, melodies, vocals, etc and the Swede himself will select his favorites.  Combining Avicii's personal taste with that of a public vote and we'll have the world's largest collaboration on our hands.  The competition's multiple stage will be split into the song's parts with each representing a section (bassline, melody, etc) and once it's all done, it will premier February 26th.  Submissions are open until the 13th via aviciixyou.com.

My main ambition with this project is to create a large, worldwide music collaboration. It will be incredibly cool to create a house piece out of so many talented artists’ different ideas."

And he's right.  It is incredibly cool to see how modern technology and music are intersecting even more, so we'll be waiting for this with baited breath.
