We knew that Avicii was going to do well his first week out, but this is actually historic. True, Avicii’s debut solo album, not only sold 50,000 copies in its first week, putting it at #5 on the Billboard 200 chart. Sounds like small potatoes, but this is the first time that a solo EDM artist has charted that high in Billboard history. 91% of the sales of True were digital, and the first single (“Wake Me Up”) also climbed the Pop Songs airplay chart. Looks like all that time and effort has paid off.
