We seriously thought we were done with this story last October, when Azealia Banks called her rumored collaboration with Disclosure an "F-side." That whole situation was weird, but what's even weirder is it being dragged back up by The Guardian in a recent interview with Banks, who recently released her Broke With Expensive Taste album this month. Truth be told, they probably knew that Banks wouldn't hold back, as she broke down a recent meeting with one of the Lawrence brothers where she asked about the collab:
I want to punch one of them in the face – the little one [possibly Guy Lawrence]. The ugly one. I want to hit him so bad. I saw him at the airport in Australia and I came over to him and I was like: ‘Hello? Like, what are we going to do with this song?’ And he was just being a dickhead. I started crying, I was so angry. I wanted to hit him. I cannot stand that little boy with all those pimples around his mouth. I love their music, though.
At least she loves their music.
Will we ever hear this collaboration? Based on the history between Banks and Disclosure, we're going to assume it won't happen, which is sad, as her style works well over dance tracks. Maybe they'll reconcile at some day... or maybe we'll just continue to see gas being poured on this fire.
