Daft Punk’s “Lose Yourself to Dance” Will Be the Next “Random Access Memories” Single

We’re just about a week removed from Colbchellagate, so it’s a perfect time for Daft Punk to announce their next Random Access Memories single. It looks like they’re trying to feed off of the Daft Punk/Pharrell/Nile Rodgers tandem that made “Get Lucky” so great (and successful) by releasing “Lose Yourself to Dance” as the next single. It makes sense, although we wonder what would be a possible third single (if you say “Doin’ It Right,” we might cry with excitement). NME reports that a “focus date” for the UK of september 23 has been announced, and that there could (should) be a video for this track. No details on possible remixes or other information surrounding the single at this time. And who knows, maybe the androids are going to bring Nile and Pharrell to the VMAs to perform it LIVE?!?!

I’d like to see a survey on how many people are still listening to RAM. For all the hype, the album stopping getting played at mine about a week after release, just too much of a bummer . . .
