Daft Punk Calls the Success of “Get Lucky” an “Unexpected” Surprise

Image via Wall Street Journal

2013 has been very good to Daft Punk. They not only released their acclaimed fourth album Random Access Memories, but they’ve done a slew of press, from Dazed & Confused to Vogue. The Wall Street Journal just released the Daft Punk / Gisele Bündchen cover for their “Innovators” issue along with a grip of shots from the Terry Richardson-shot pictorial, which some people are saying is a bite of their Vogue shoot with Karli Kloss, but feels a lot more playful (thanks, Terry). The actual WSJ piece touches on the clash of their ’70s influence and sound on RAM with today’s world, as well as talking about the impact this album has had on their career compared to previous efforts. Check out the shots, and read through the feature.

They’re playing themselves with that cover, accessories to a model who’s an “innovator.” Uh, sure.
