Today marked the day that both Zedd and David Guetta hit Gold status for their recent releases. Zedd was celebrating his huge single "Clarity" reaching gold, and had the following to say:

David Guetta celebrated his 2011 album, Nothing But The Beat, finally attaining gold status. Sure, it took two years, but when you consider that only a handful of dance music albums have reached that mark, it's a pretty solid achievement. Guetta is reported as saying "I’m so honored that my album has gone gold in the U.S. and so thankful to all the fans that have supported me and dance music in general. Together we have created the biggest movement and community in music around the world and it is amazing!"
We're not sure how many more dance albums will go gold; we need more artists making albums that American audiences can feel, and with Calvin Harris saying he's not trying to chart this go round, we'll see how that works.
