Do you remember back in April when word came that some 8 Mile meets Project X EDM film that is apparently featuring teens trying to get into "Diplo's electronic music festival?" Maybe not. It's being developed by 20th Century Fox, and is being written by Adam Weinstock and Andy. Word is that this project has a director, David Katzenberg; if you watch MTV, you might have seen the episodes of Awkward and The Hard Times of RJ Berger, which are two teen-oriented shows (he was also a co-creator of The Hard Times of RJ Berger alongside Seth Grahame-Smith). Word is that their KatzSmith Productions company is also looking to make Beetlejuice 2, as well as remakes of Gremlins and Stephen King's It. Not that that has ANY to do with the Diplo EDM movie, but hey, it looks like this project is moving forward.
